# Dropbox pricing

The original consumer cloud storage that pioneered file sync in 2007. Publicly traded, ~$8B market cap. Positioned as the alternative to Google Drive and OneDrive for personal storage + team collaboration. Distinctive for its cross-platform sync reliability and its business tier's focus on content collaboration (Dropbox Paper, Dropbox Sign after acquiring HelloSign in 2019). Priced $11.99-$26/user/mo. Losing share to Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 bundles but still profitable and cash-generative.

## Recommendation

In other words, Dropbox Business is worth it for teams (3-500 people) that need reliable file sync + share links + basic collaboration — particularly if Adobe/Creative Cloud file sizes are core to your workflow. Standard covers core team sync; Advanced adds compliance and unlimited storage. Very easy for anyone (drag-and-drop is the whole point). Native integrations with Slack, Zoom, Microsoft 365, and 400+ apps. Downside: gets pricier per user than Google Drive (bundled in Workspace) or OneDrive (bundled in Microsoft 365), and Dash/AI features feel bolted-on rather than integrated.

## Alternative to consider

Already in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365? Drive or OneDrive are bundled free. Just want cheap unlimited backup? Backblaze Personal or pCloud (lifetime deals).
