CHEAPER THAN ITS PREDECESSOR: Opus 5 is $5 / $25, so Opus 5.5 undercuts it by 20% on both sides while being the newer flagship. Opus 5 is still listed and purchasable, so it has NOT been deprecated. CACHE STRUCTURE CHANGED: on Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 a cache hit costs 5% of standard input, not the 10% that applies to earlier Claude models and to Haiku 5.5. $0.20 is 5% of $4.
