Notion · Productivity

Block-based digital workspace combining docs, databases, wikis, and project management in one flexible interface. Positioned as the alternative to running Confluence + Jira + Google Docs + Airtable as separate tools. Distinctive for its "everything is a block" architecture that lets teams build custom workflows without engineering. Popular with startups consolidating tools; enterprise adoption held back by weaker permissions than Confluence/SharePoint. Notion Workers (automation runtime) goes on a per-credit meter August 11, 2026 — a Notion bill is no longer bounded by headcount.

In other words, Notion replaces the need for separate docs, wiki, and lightweight project management tools — one workspace covers what solo entrepreneurs and small teams normally spread across three. The Free tier handles most solo work; Plus is the natural upgrade for teams. Docs are dead simple; databases take a weekend to learn. Native integrations with Slack, GitHub, Jira, and 50+ apps; Zapier for the rest. Downside: performance degrades past ~500 pages, permission controls are weak for confidential content, and there's no reliable offline mode.

CHECKED 2026-09-17 (daily refresh): NO MOVEMENT. Plus $12 monthly / $10 annual re-confirmed unambiguously. Business re-confirmed at $20 annual by the weight of sources (automationatlas, costbench, eesel, lifestack, getpricepulse, workmanagementhub, usecarly), matching our stored $24 monthly / $20 annual. Free and Enterprise unchanged. A VARIANT OF THE AUG 13 FLAG RESURFACED AND WAS REJECTED AGAIN. One source cluster (tinycommand) states Business is '$18 per user/mo billed annually, $20 monthly' — which would shift our whole Business row one column left. It did not clear the bar, for two reasons. First, source weight: seven independent sources describe Business as '$20/member/month billed annually' while the $18/$20 reading comes from a single site's pages, and that same site is the one whose figures were involved in the earlier confusion. Second, that reading contradicts the dominant narrative in the same results — multiple sources describe Notion having RAISED Business ~20% in 2026 as part of the AI bundling, which is incompatible with Business simultaneously being cheaper than we record it. This is the second time this record has attracted a low-ball Business figure ($15 on 2026-08-13, $18 now), both times traceable to scrape-quality variance rather than a vendor move, and both times rejected. Worth remembering: if a THIRD variant appears, the pattern itself becomes the signal and a manual vendor-page check would be justified rather than another rejection on source weight. NEW, GENUINELY STRUCTURAL — METERED AGENT CREDITS. As of July 2026, on top of bundled AI, Notion meters AGENT usage at roughly $10 per 1,000 credits billed above seat cost. This is a new variable cost component that did not exist when this record was last enriched, and it is the same per-seat-to-hybrid shift seen on monday.com and Fibery in today's batch. No list price changed, so no snapshot — but the record should carry a usage-pricing note, and 'Restructured recently' would be a fair tag. AI bundling context re-confirmed: the standalone $10/member AI add-on was retired and full Notion AI (Agents, AI Meeting Notes, Enterprise Search) is bundled into Business and Enterprise; Free and Plus get only limited trials. Teams formerly paying Plus $10 + AI $10 = $20 now pay $20 on Business — flat bill, lost a-la-carte option. Pre-change subscribers are grandfathered but cannot re-subscribe after cancelling. Status stays Auto-Verified. --- PRIOR HISTORY --- 2026-08-21 auto-refresh — PENDING REVIEW RESOLVED, no price change. The 2026-08-13 flag asked whether Notion Business had dropped to $15 annual / $18 monthly. It had not. Multiple independent 2026 sources (automationatlas, aiproductivity, usecarly, eesel, get-alfred, tinycommand) agreed on Free $0 / Plus $10 annual ($12 monthly) / Business $20 annual ($24 monthly) / Enterprise custom, with a 17% annual discount — exactly matching stored values. The $15 figures appear to have been bad scrapes, not a real move. Status moved Pending Review -> Auto-Verified. Net effect of the AI repackaging was a packaging change with no list-price movement — worth a newsletter mention as an example of price-neutral bundling.
