Plausible · Analytics & Data

Privacy-first web analytics positioned as the alternative to Google Analytics for teams that want GDPR-native (no cookie banner needed) analytics. Distinctive for its "no personal data collected" claim and its lightweight script (<1KB) that doesn't slow sites. Priced $9-$149/mo based on pageview volume. Bootstrapped Estonian company. Popular with EU-based startups, indie hackers, and privacy-conscious teams tired of GA4's complexity.

In other words, Plausible is worth it for privacy-conscious website owners and small teams who want simple, GDPR-compliant analytics without cookies — particularly if you value dashboard elegance over feature depth. Fixed monthly rate by pageviews (unlimited sites on paid tiers); Business adds team + email reports; self-hosted free forever. Very easy setup (one script tag). Limited integrations by design; API for custom uses. Downside: less depth than GA4 (no user-level cohorts, weaker attribution), and per-pageview pricing scales fast on high-traffic sites.

CHECKED 2026-09-17 (daily refresh): NO MOVEMENT, and the 2026-09-07 restructure is independently confirmed. Starter $9 / Growth $14 / Business $19 monthly all re-confirmed (seline, checkthat, analytics-alternatives, comparetiers, contentmation, plausible.io's own subscription-plans docs). Sources continue to describe the model exactly as we now store it — four NAMED FEATURE TIERS (Starter, Growth, Business, Enterprise) with a pageview slider WITHIN each tier — not volume bands across tiers, which is what the pre-Sep-7 record wrongly claimed. Business remains a feature upgrade (funnels, revenue tracking, custom properties, Stats API) at the same pageview base as Starter, not a volume step up from it. Annual billing re-confirmed as 'pay annually, get 2 months free' = 16.7%, matching our stored 17% and our stored annual column (7.50 / 11.67 / 15.83) to the cent. 30-day free trial on all plans, no credit card, re-confirmed. Enterprise stays custom. STILL OPEN from 2026-09-07 (flagged a second time, no action taken): legacy Weekly Price Changes rows for this tool are labelled '10K pageviews' and '100K pageviews' from the old volume-band model. They should be retitled 'Starter' and 'Business' respectively so the frontend price-history graph draws continuous per-tier lines instead of splitting one tier into disconnected fragments — the same fix applied to Attio and to Greenhouse's Essential -> Core rename. This is a snapshot-relabel job on historical rows, not a pricing change, and it needs a manual pass because it touches rows this daily run is not supposed to rewrite. Verification Status left as Verified per the never-overwrite-Verified rule.
